No mother is “just a mom.” Take Mother’s Milk Founder Ida Mousoni. She’s a businesswoman, a childbirth educator, a doula & a mom. But societies all over the world fail to see the obvious. The idea that “moms are just moms,” somehow, is still entrenched. Thanks to Mother’s Milk, that’s going to change.

& how is Mother’s Milk changing this? There is no one answer. It’s a safe space, a series of events, a documentary, a doula service, a self help resource, a networking platform, a podcast, a book & so much more.

It all began when Ida’s six-year-old boy asked her a seemingly simple question: “Who are you besides a mom?” At first, she didn’t know how to answer. So she asked other moms. They didn’t know how to answer the question either. Ida realized that she had to let mothers take ahold of their true identities while remaining proud of their motherhood!

Over the next few years, she developed Mother’s Milk with the following four principles: Nourish. Nurture. Sustain. Build.

Ida drew inspiration from some of the world’s most impactful mothers, new and old. Boudica fought against the Romans. Marie Curie was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize. Janet Yellen was the first woman to chair the Federal Reserve. But they all raised children. Ida used these women as an example of how to live and how to achieve.

Then she discovered how and why sisterhoods had empowered women to thrive. Howard University’s Alpha Kappa Alpha showed the world that black women deserved society’s respect. The Bronte sisters wrote works that are now considered to be masterpieces of literature. The suffragettes proved that women deserve the vote. Of course, Ida was inspired to continue the successes that sisterhoods can attain.

That was when she realized that Mother’s Milk could be a hybrid community. She decided to use her talents to form a unique sisterhood that would empower mothers everywhere to continue to trailblaze and show that women can do anything!

Today, it allows moms across the globe to gain a stronger sense of identity, together & individually. & it’s getting bigger & better with every passing day.

It doesn’t matter if your kids call you mom, mum, ma, mama, mommy, mutter, mae or majka. Every mother has something to gain from becoming part of the Mother’s Milk community.

& now, Mother’s Milk World can present itself to the world in the way it should. Thanks to beautiful graphics, stunning images & an easy user interface,

Mother’s Milk is able to reach more mothers than ever before.
